5 Best Maidstone area Pubs to relax in

There are gastro pubs, theme pubs, drinking pubs and country pubs but what I really enjoy is simply a relaxing pub.  Here are my top 5 pubs in the Maidstone area to relax in…

Ringlestone Inn1. The Ringlestone Inn Nr Harrietsham.Tel: 01622 859900

This a beautiful, cosy pub steeped in history and well stocked with tapped ales and over 30 English fruit wines and liqueurs.  Ample parking, good outdoor space with play area and the perfect country pub for summer. It’s picturesque qualities draw film crews as well as tourists so you may actually recognise it from ‘The Thompsons’ or even ‘Eastenders’!

The Mulberry Tree Maidstone2. Mulberry Tree, Hermitage Lane, Boughton Monchelsea  Tel:  01622 749082 or 01622 741058

Enjoy Al Fresco dining in a classy courtyard garden. You can relax knowing that the food will taste good (the pub was a ‘Finalist’ in the Taste of Kent awards 2010) and is locally sourced – they have a list of their Kent stockists on the website so if you want ethical food give the Mulberry Tree a try.

The Bull Inn Linton (from website) 3. The Bull Inn, Linton Hill, Linton, Tel: 01622 643 612

www.thebullatlinton.co.uk

Perching on the side of a hill is the wiggly, picturesque, 17th century Bull Inn in Linton. With ample parking at the pub or across the road this pub is an ideal venue for a sunny summer drink.  The gardens have a decking area which command the most magnificent views across the weald and the menu and drinks are all reasonably priced.

Oak on the Green Bearsted4. Oak on the Green, Bearsted Green, Bearsted Tel: 01622 737976

The reputation of this pub I outstanding and even thought the outdoor area could do with being a little bigger it is an exciting place to go and eat or drink simply because you know your experience will be good and relaxing due to the situation of the pub – overlooking Bearsted Green. This is the ideal place for a Sunday roast with family or a cheeky, relaxing drink after a days shopping.

Hook and Hatchet Hucking 5.  The Hook and Hatchet, Hucking, Maidstone. Tel: 01622 880399.

Surrounded by beautiful fields and refurbished in March 2014 this pub is simply stunning for your lazy summer day.  A bright and breezy inside is balanced by the warm sun-trap outside area a lovely place to while away your afternoon.
