Editor’s intro February 2014

“Hello and welcome to Inside Maidstone Magazine. Hopefully you will be happy to read that the February ‘Valentine’ issue is not all about love – but we couldn’t overlook one of the most romantic days of the year either! Inside you will find Valentines with a twist – a behind the scenes look at Chilston Park weddings and how they work to bring everything together for someone’s special day plus gift ideas from the Maidstone shops and Valentines cocktails from Mumu’s.

For Valentines food ideas channel Radio presenter Jules Serkin lets us know about what is available locally and a step by step guide on how to make your own cupcake bouquet gift is yours to use from Exquisite Vintage Teas Ltd – these cupcake bouquets look amazing so if your other half is a cake fan this is an inspirational gift.

Valentines aside, we are celebrating the artists in Maidstone and have interviews with Kay Gretton and Tom Phillips plus images of their work and we could not ignore flood hit Maidstone which Tom Phillips photographed to staggering affect.

For those into their fashion the Street Style File continues and the behind the scene theme rolls on with a look at Pop’s Café and the man behind this business.  The What’s On Guide is now up and running and we have also included a sport section which covers Kingswood Karate (who hope to bring gold medals back to Maidstone!) and an interview with Maidstone Football Club Manager Jay Saunders as well as the graphs and statistics to track their season so all you sports fans out there take a look! There is much more included too…this magazine is a tardis!

Inside Maidstone Magazine is interactive and you will find you can rate certain aspects of the magazine and give us your feedback – especially on the Talking Point page! There are also videos embedded which take the magazine into a whole new dimension.  We try to cover a wide range of businesses, people and events in the magazine and every month will be completely different but we never sway away from focusing on Maidstone and the people that make it great. If you want to be involved then get in touch!”

Kind Regards,

Liz White.
