Maidstone Museum Competition gives Kent Artists an Exclusive Opportunity!

Maidstone Museum has launched an exciting competition for budding artists in Kent to design an image that will be used across a new range of gifts this Christmas. They are on the lookout for a single stunning black and white image of something exciting in Maidstone and are urging all participants to let their imagination run wild.

The competition is open to everyone across Kent aged 6 and above, and there are some fantastic prizes to be won. Not only will the winner get to see their drawing on a range of museum gifts, but first, second and third place will also receive shopping vouchers for The Mall.

This is an exciting competition for all ages to get involved in, with two categories for different age groups; 6-12yrs and 13+yrs. For the 6-12yrs category the prizes for the winner and runners up consist of Waterstones book vouchers and some wonderful dinosaur soft toys.

All entries will be viewed by award-winning local artist Graham Clarke, as he is part of the judging panel. Joining him as judges of the competition are Victoria Barlow, Museums Director, Samantha Butler, Operations Supervisor Retail and Visitor Information Centre and Annabelle Pearsall, Operations and Visitor Service Manager.

The only requirements for the design are that it must be in black and white and depict anything in Maidstone, from a famous building in the borough, a favourite spot to visit or even an Iguanodon!

To enter the competition all participants need to do is email their design to [email protected] or post or deliver their design in person to Maidstone Museum & Bentlif Art Gallery.

The competition closes on Monday 31 July and the lucky winner will be announced on Monday 7 August 2017.
